Ngamba Island is part of Ssese islands surrounded by Lake Victoria, Uganda’s biggest fresh water lake. It’s a home of 49 Orphaned Chimpanzees rescued from across East Africa. The Island was gazette in 1998 to Shelter Chimpanzees that were rescued form illegal pet and Bush meat trade.
Uganda wildlife education center formally known as Entebbe Zoo is surrounded by Lake Victoria, Uganda’s biggest fresh water lake. It was established in 1952 by the colonial government to take care of Wild animals that were found on Causalities. Its shelters animals like Lions, leopard, white Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffe to mention but a few.
Wake up early morning, have breakfast and transfer to waterfront beach for a boat ride on lake Victoria to Ngamba Island, it will take you 45 minutes across the equator en route. On arrival you will be briefed by the guide about the dos and don’ts of the Chimpanzees. Then after you will participate in the morning feeding of these great apes. See how they climb trees, scream, fight and play when it’s time for food. Have lunch, catch the afternoon boat and transfer to Uganda wildlife education center to see wild animals that have been rescued from causality. You can opt to do this through behind the scene to get a physical feel of those animals. Then later in the evening the driver drops you to your desired destination.
