This is one of the best safaris that offers visitors the opportunity to explore Rwanda in 6 days. This safari will involve visitors engaging in game drives and wildlife sightings. Visitors will also be involved in the Bisoke hiking, the boat cruise on Lake Ihema, as well as the boat ride on Lake Kivu, and all of this is so very interesting.
This 6-day Rwanda safari will begin with the fantastic welcome of you at the Kigali international airport by our safari company, which will come and welcome you to the thousands of hills. After that, our driver will lead you to your hotel where you will go on the Kigali city tours where you will be able to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and see the wonderful Kigali city. Here, you will be able to stay at either the quiet Haven Hotel, Serena Hotel, or Hotel des Mille Collines where you will be able to have lodging facilities and meals.
After the early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will drive for about 3 hours to Akagera national park, with an interesting stopover on the way to feel the Rwanda landscape as you get an explanation of your confusing questions from our safari guide. You will later arrive at the park and check into your lodge and later go for a short game drive in the park before you return to the lodge for launch. After lunch, you just have a short break and will be called on for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be able to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and other aquatic animals coming and flowing along the water banks. And you can also do the evening game drive, where you will be able to see the big five animals and various bird species, including the shoebill stork, and later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Lodge options include the Akagera game safari lodge and Ruzizi tented camp, among others.
In the morning, you will wake up and have the early morning game drive, where you will see more anaimals, including corcodiles, hippos, and more bird species. After this game drive, you will leave Akagera National Park and drive to the Volcanoes National Park. You move on the winding road as you see the better and wonderful views of Rwanda’s 1000hills. You will have lunch in Kigali city and then drive to the northern part of Rwanda where you will stay in either Muhabura Hotel, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, or Bamboo Gorilla Lodge.
Prior to going on your climbing excursion, you will receive instructions from the recreation area officer at the volcano National Park headquarters early in the day. Begin your ascent by ascending to the highest point of Bisoke's molten magma fountain and exploring her magnificent crater lake before returning to Musanze. Depending on how quickly you obtain information about climbing experience, the ascent will take roughly 5, 6, or 7 hours. After that, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Muhabura Hotel, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, or Bamboo Gorilla Lodge are all options.
In the morning, after having breakfast at your lodge, you will visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village to see the stunning performances and learn more about their traditional performances and unique culture. You will also see how these people make beer. You will be transferred to Kivu Lake in the early evening to relax by the ocean. Supper and short-term Serena Hotel (luxury), Lake Kivu Waterfront Resort (mid-range hotel), or Discover Hostel, Gisenyi, are all good options. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are all on the menu for the evening.
After having breakfast, you will enjoy the boat ride on Lake Kivu where you will be able to explore different islands as you explore different bird species found on the islands, and later embark on a drive back to Kigali, where possible, you will be able to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Grounds before you continue to Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
