The park is open to visitors throughout the year though the best time to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is between June and August, and then again in December through to February. These are the driest months, when the trekking trails are less slippery with the best chance of sunny skies and clear days perfect for wildlife viewing.

How long does it take to reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park?

The park can be reached from Kampala via Mbarara (9–10 hours) by road. The park can also be accessed by air from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala (Kajjansi air field) to the tarmac airstrip at Kisoro. Bwindi is well served by three airstrips Kayonza, Kihihi and Nyakabande which helps you access the park with in 1 hour.
