This safari activity will start early in the morning with our safari guide-driver picking you up from your residence or hotel in Kigali at around 4:45 am. This is the start of your 1-day Rwanda gorilla safari. You will drive for about 2 hours to reach Musanze, which is located in Ruhengeri, where the endangered mountain gorillas are found. The road trip to the Volcanoes National Park is full of eye-catching scenery and you are free to tell your driver to stop for the photo moments. You can also make a stopover to have a cup of coffee to warm you up as you continue with the wonderful journey. At exactly half-past seven in the morning, you should be able to arrive at the park headquarters to receive the gorilla trekking instructions before you start the journey into the jungle for the endangered mountain gorilla encounter. You can stay in the forest trekking for about 6 hours, and this will depend on how fast you move when in the wild and the location of the gorilla group that you have been allocated. It is good to request for the nearby gorilla family since you will be trekking back and once you have found the gorillas, you will have strictly one hour of interaction including taking photos, recording small videos, and asking as many questions as you can. After this one hour, you will trek back to the back headquarters and thereafter be driven back to Kigali international airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of your 1-day Rwanda gorilla safari.
Please note that the Rwanda gorilla trekking permit costs $1500 per person per trek, and if you want to trek the golden monkeys, the cost is $100.
