This 7-day Rwanda Gorilla safari is one of the best safari packages that are most popular with our visitors, especially those who are interested in visiting Rwanda. Our 7-day Rwanda Gorilla safari will take you to explore all the national parks in Rwanda, including the Akagera National Park, which is known for the big five animals, drive to Volcanoes National Park for the gorilla trekking and the golden monkey tracking experiences, and this 7-day Rwanda Gorilla safari will end in Nyungwe Forest National Park, where we shall complete or end with the wonderful chimpanzee trekking experience. This is very interesting because Nyungwe Forest National Park has got more than 10 primates species and thus you will explore a lot of these species in this park.
This 7-day Rwanda Gorilla safari will begin with the fantastic welcome of you at the Kigali international airport by our safari company, which will come and welcome you to the thousands of hills. After that, our driver will lead you to your hotel where you will go on the Kigali city tour, where you will be able to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and see the wonderful Kigali city. Here, you will be able to stay at either the quiet Haven Hotel, Serena Hotel, or Hotel des Mille Collines, where you will be able to have lodging facilities and meals.
After the early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will be packed by one of our experienced guides in a branded vehicle, and then you will drive for about 3 hours to Akagera national park, with an interesting stopover on the way to feel the Rwanda landscape as you get an explanation of your confusing questions from our safari guide. You will later arrive at the park, check into your lodge, and later go for a short game drive in the park before you return to the lodge for launch. After lunch, you just have a short break and will be called on for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be able to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and other aquatic animals coming and flowing along the water banks. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Lodge options include the Akagera game safari lodge and Ruzizi tented camp, among others.
You will have breakfast early in the morning at around 6, and then leave for the game drive safari in the park, where you will be able to encounter several animals that include both grazers and predators. Have an eye-to-eye encounter with the buffaloes, the giraffes, the elephants, the leopards, lions, hippos, bushbucks, among others. The birds of Akagera are diverse. It is believed that more than 500 species of birds have been reported in Akagera National Park, and you will be able to encounter these species. You will return to your inn/hotel to freshen up and eat before gathering for the adventure to Volcanoes National Park. When you get to Volcanoes National Park, you will register at your leisure and prepare for the next day. Supper will be served at your leisure.
After breakfast, report to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters at around 7 am where you will receive gorilla trekking advice and directions from the aide on gorilla tracking, which is conducted by the park rangers. For your enjoyment, we will do our best to ensure you are healthy and smart for this excursion. Because it gets hot and humid during the day, it's critical to pack good climbing boots, long pants, gloves for protection against stinging brambles, snacks, and plenty of water. You will spend an hour with the gorillas that you will never forget. The gorilla tracking activity lasts between two and eight hours, after which you will return to the chalet for relaxation and lunch. If time allows, your guide will take you to a nearby Banywarwanda people group, where you will be able to interact with the locals in a thrilling social experience. You will return to your hotel or hold up for supper before nightfall.
After having your early morning breakfast, the safari driver guide will pick you up and drive you to the park headquarters to receive instructions regarding golden monkey tracking. These fascinating, colorful monkeys are found in the bamboo woodlands on the lower slants of the slopes, making for a simpler and more confined tour than the previous day. If you prefer to relax rather than travel, you can stay at our convenience and refresh. In any case, brilliant monkey following is an energetically wise and rare natural life experience. Therefore, we urge guests not to miss out on this fantastic occasion. It is good to move with your packed lunch since the golden monkeys are active and may end up taking a long time. After that, you will enter the forest in search of the golden monkeys. You will also spend one hour with them. The golden monkey trek gives you a chance to see other riches in the park, including the volcanoes. When you return, you will continue to plan and organize your trip to Nyungwe forest Park. You will enjoy an outstanding lunch of Rwandan local foods in one of the towns on your way to Nyungwe. After lunch, you will embark on an excursion to Nyungwe Forest, where you will check in to your inn/stop for a brief visit. At the lodge, dinner will be provided.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will congregate with other visitors at the park headquarters at the start of the day for instructions. You may either go for amazing monkey watching or trek up to the Karisoke Research Center, which was established by Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who dedicated her entire life to preserving the lives of mountain gorillas until she was killed and is now buried. As you move through the forest, you will learn more about the mountain gorillas' existence. After lunch, you will go on a moveable route to the Canopy Walk, a fifty-meter-long swing strung between massive trees. You'll want to observe the magnificent tropical jungle from 10,000 feet up, observing wildlife scurrying around beneath you. You will return to your inn/stop for supper before nightfall.
After breakfast, you will gather and begin your journey back to Kigali. After landing in Kigali, you will proceed on a city tour of Kigali. You can also pay a visit to the Kigali massacre memorial site. As a result, your 7-day Rwanda Gorilla safari has come to an end. A fun ride guide will then return you to your hotel or the airport.
