This safari will also be enhanced to provide this safari with the vacation aspect of Rwanda. You will interact with the best local people in the countryside of Rwanda as you engage in various safari activities during this great safari.
Today is the beginning of our 10-day Rwanda safari experience whereby you will be welcomed by our guide, whom you will find already at the Kigali international airport. He will greet you and give you a brief introduction to what you can expect on this safari. Later, you will drive to Kigali city to your hotel, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.
After the early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will be packed by one of our experienced guides in a branded vehicle, and then you will drive for about 3 hours to Akagera national park, with an interesting stopover on the way to feel the Rwanda landscape as you get an explanation of your confusing questions from our safari guide. You will later arrive at the park, check into your lodge, and later go for a short game drive in the park before you return to the lodge for launch. After lunch, you just have a short break and will be called on for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you will be able to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and other aquatic animals coming and flowing along the water banks. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Lodge options include the Akagera game safari lodge and Ruzizi tented camp, among others.
You will have breakfast early in the morning at around 6, and then leave for the game drive safari in the park, where you will be able to encounter several animals that include both grazers and predators. Have an eye-to-eye encounter with the buffaloes, the giraffes, the elephants, the leopards, lions, hippos, bushbucks, among others. The birds of Akagera are diverse. It is believed that more than 500 species of birds have been reported in Akagera National Park, and you will be able to encounter these species. You'll have a picnic lunch. After lunch, continue on your game drive in search of additional animals in this wonderful park, and the lodging options may include Akagera Game Lodge, where you will have dinner and an evening stay.
In the morning, after having breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali, and in the afternoon, you will explore Kigali city with a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial sitewhere more than 250,000 were buried in mass graves during the genocide. This location serves as both a gallery and a learning center. There is a lot to observe and learn from Rwanda's history up to this point. Later, you will return to your hotel for supper and a short-term stay at the Hotel des Mille Collines. Supper Preparation: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
It is about a five-hour drive from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest. After having breakfast, you will be picked up from Nyungwe Forest by our safari guide in the morning. This park is found in southwestern Rwanda. You will be driven towards the southwestern part of the country, in the western province. You will have a stopover at the royal palace and the ethnographic museum on your way and have a guided tour around this museum as you are given history about how they came into existence. After that, you will have en-route lunch here and continue to Nyungwe Forest National Park, where you will have the canopy walk and long forest on top before you drive to your booked lodge. The logging options here include the Emeraudel Hotel and Nyungwe Top View Hill.
Wake up in the early morning, have a healthy breakfast, and be driven to Nyungwe park headquarters to receive instructions about the Chimpanzee trekking in the forest, which will be given to you by the ranger guide. After the briefing, you will start the journey to encounter the chimpanzees. Your search for chimps takes us on foot into Africa's most established montane timberland. Strolling through this ancient and biodiverse jungle is an unimaginable opportunity to spot chimpanzees, unusual features, birds, plants, and small animals. Nyungwe Forest is home to over 500 chimps, providing excellent opportunities to observe these sociable gorillas as well as 12 other primate species. We will most likely see dark-faced vervet monkeys and l'Hoest's monkeys, with dark-cheeked mangabeys and Rwenzori colobus monkeys also being regularly seen. You will conclude your amazing first Rwanda safari day with a tree canopy hike, which will provide you with breathtaking views of the forest from above. Stay at Emeraudel Hotel or Nyungwe Top View Hill.
After finishing your morning breakfast, you will be ready to see the beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu. You will enjoy a boat ride around the lake to see the beautiful sights. You can take a nature walk on one of the islands in this lake, which is noted for retaining a large number of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise because it is home to a variety of bird species such as the comrand, pied lord fishers, weaver birds, and herons, to name a few. You will subsequently return to and drive to Musanze, which is about a three-hour journey away. Musanze is a vacation industry region near Volcanoes National Park, where most of the cabins are located and you can stay at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge.
You will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast served by professional hotel workers. Make sure that at around half-past seven in the morning, you arrive at the park headquarters to receive the gorilla trekking instructions before you start the journey into the jungle for the endangered mountain gorilla encounter. You can stay in the forest while trekking for about 6 hours, and this will depend on how fast you move when in the wild and the location of the gorilla group that you have been allocated. It is best to request to see the nearby gorilla family since you will be trekking back, and once you have found the gorillas, you will have strictly one hour of interaction, including taking photos, recording small videos, and asking as many questions as you can. Participate in the Iby'Iwacu community stroll, where you will mingle with happy, welcoming Rwandans and share beautiful day-to-day life experiences in the afternoon before you return to your lodge.
After having your early morning breakfast, the safari driver guide will pick you up and drive you to the park headquarters to receive instructions regarding golden monkey tracking. These fascinating, colorful monkeys are found in the bamboo woodlands on the lower slants of the slopes, making for a simpler and more confined tour than the previous day. If you prefer to relax rather than travel, you can stay at our convenience and refresh. In any case, brilliant monkey following is an energetically wise and rare natural life experience. Therefore, we urge guests not to miss out on this fantastic occasion. It is good to move with your packed lunch since the golden monkeys are active and may end up taking a long time. After that, you will enter the forest in search of the golden monkeys. You will also spend one hour with them. The golden monkey trek gives you a chance to see other riches in the park, including the volcanoes. This evening, we return to Kigali, Rwanda's capital. Staying at a similar inn as before, you are free to relax while admiring the beautiful views of the city.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart the resort for a quick wildlife drive before returning to Kigali and being dropped off at the lodge or airport to catch your afternoon departure.
