This two-day gorilla trekking safari in Volcanoes National Park will begin in Kigali, Africa’s cleanest city, with a pack-up from our driver guide and a drive up to Musanze village, where the volcanoes national park is located. The gorilla trekking safari experience is an experience that the visitors will live to remember.
From your hotel in Kigali, you will be picked up by our safari guide and, if you happen to arrive early, you will get an opportunity to move to the Kigali city tours. Here you will be able to explore the Kigali genocide memorial where more than 20.000 bodies of people were buried during the time of the genocide. You will have lunch in Kigali and drive to Musanze in Ruhengeri, where you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Visitors can stay at the Mount Gorilla View Lodge, La Palme Hotel, or the Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel. You will be served full board for all the time that you will be staying here.
You will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast served by professional hotel workers. Make sure that at around half-past seven in the morning, you arrive at the park headquarters to receive the gorilla trekking instructions before you start the journey into the jungle for the endangered mountain gorilla encounter. You can stay in the forest while trekking for about 6 hours, and this will depend on how fast you move when in the wild and the location of the gorilla group that you have been allocated. It is good to request for the nearby gorilla family since you will be trekking back, and once you have found the gorillas, you will have strictly one hour of interaction, including taking photos, recording small videos, and asking as many questions as you can. After this one hour, you will trek back to the back headquarters and thereafter be driven back to Kigali international airport for your flight back home. This marks the end of your 2 day gorilla trekking safari in Volcanoes National Park.
