This is one of the best and most wonderful gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking safaris that will allow visitors to see the golden monkeys and gorillas in Rwanda. This 3-day Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari will start and end in Kigali, taking you to the Volcanoes national park, which is the only park in Rwanda where you will see these two great primates in the same park. The Golden Monkey and the gorillas live happily in the jungles of the Volcanoes National Park.
On this day, you will be received by our safari guide who will pick you up from Kigali International Airport and brief you on the safari expectations. You will drive to Musanze after a stopover in Kigali for lunch and then continue to Musanze, where if you have enough time, you will get a chance to enjoy the Burera and the Ruhondo. These two lakes give visitors stunning views of the blue waters, which are bounded by the steep hills and beautiful waterfalls. These are the outlines of the Virunga Volcanoes national park, and they offer spectacular views of tourists. You will later drive to your lodge at Volcanoes Boutique, which is one of the best and has luxury views of the park.
After having the morning breakfast, you will join your driver guide and drive to the park headquarters at Kinigi, where you will meet the other visitors coming for the same activity and be briefed about the do's and don’ts while trekking the gorillas. Once the briefing is done and all the park formalities have been completed, you will move into the forest to encounter the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you have seen the gorillas in the forest, you will spend only one hour with them, just 7 meters away from you. After that, you will return to your booked lodge and have an overnight stay at Volcanoes Boutique.
After breakfast, you return to the volcanoes national park headquarters for a briefing on the golden monkey trekking experience.After the briefing, you will go to the forest with the guides to track the golden monkeys, and then you will leave the volcanoes and drive to Kigali, where you can take the Kigali city tour if time allows.The Kigali city tour will lead you to many shopping centers, the Gisozi genocide memorial site, and also the best destination for the Kigali museums. Last-minute shopping as you bid farewell to Rwanda is also advisable.
