The gorillas of Rwanda can also be explored on a 4-day Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari. This 4-day Rwanda primate trekking safari will take you to the Volcanoes national park, which is known as the gorilla park in Rwanda. You will start your drive in Kigali and then drive via the unwinding road offering the mesmerizing scenery of the hills and mountains of Rwanda as you meet the local people in the countryside of Rwanda before you reach the volcanoes, the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Volcanoes national park features a lot of wildlife species, including several primates, such as the golden monkey and the gorillas, that you will be able to see, as well as varied species of birds. This is the experience that you will live to remember, and it is one of the best and most wonderful primate experiences ever.
Once you have arrived at Kigali international airport, you will be picked up by the safari guide, who will welcome you and drive you to your hotel in Kigali for a short dinner and an overnight stay. Within only two hours, you will drive from Kigali to the Volcanoes National Park. First, you will have breakfast, and then you will get a chance to visit the Kigali genocide memorial sites and see the places, including where the culprits or victims of the 1994 genocide were murdered in a big grave. The place has been organized to attract tourists, and you will see some of the short videos depicting exactly what happened and people moving through and visiting some of the areas. After this, you will have lunch and drive to Musanze in Volcanoes National Park to your lodge, where you will have dinner and overnight stay at different lodges of your choice, such as the Garden Palace Hotel, Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge, and the Musanze Cultural Center.
Boutique Hotel.
This is the day that you have been waiting for. You will wake up early in the morning and have breakfast, so make sure that you get to breakfast early so that you get to the gorilla trekking starting point at the park headquarters early for a briefing. You should be well prepared with a nice parking list, including light and heavy clothes, like a rain jacket, because it might rain at any time of the day. Other items like hiking boots, walking shoes, snacks, as well as water, are also essential for this encounter with gorillas. After the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek with and then enter the jungle led by the safari guide. You will have interactive conservation with the guide while you’re in the jungle, and feel free to ask anything that you will encounter on the way. Gorilla trekking may even last for six hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family and the physical fitness of the trekkers.
