This is a memorial adventure safari for visitors who want to learn about Uganda’s wildlife and primates, particularly the gorillas. The 11-day Uganda primate and wildlife safari will take you through many of Uganda’s most beautiful scenes, including the scenery of the Mighty Nile as you explore it in Murchison Falls National Park. The wildlife in Murchison Falls National Park as you unleash Uganda’s big five animals. Leave the Murchison Falls National Park and enter the home of Uganda’s primates, the Kibale Forest National Park, for Chimpanzee trekking, which is the forest with the most species of primates in all of East Africa. Here, you will go to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, a medley of wonders known for its tree-climbing lions, and the fantastic boat cruise on Kazinga Channel as you enjoy the stunning views of the park and the surroundings. Lake Bunyonyi will also be explored to offer you some chilling and relaxing moments from your wildlife and primate experiences.
Our 11-day Uganda primate and wildlife safari begins with the pickup by our safari guide from Entebbe internal airport, who will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel after he has briefed you about the safari. Lodging options may include Serena Hotel, Arcadia Cottages, and Speke Resort Hotel, with meals served on a full-board basis.
The safari journey from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park is about four to five hours, and thus, you will start this journey after having breakfast in the morning. As you move to Murchison Falls National Park, you will pass through Ziwa for rhino tracking and then continue to Masindi, where you will have lunch before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park to check into your lodge for dinner and an evening stay. The booked lodges will include the Fort Murchison, Paraa Safari Lodge, and Murchison River Lodge, among others.
A game drive was conducted early in the Murchison Falls National Park. Starting early in the morning after breakfast, with incredible sightings of the different animals such as the giraffes, buffaloes, lions, shy sitatunga, hartebeest, bush duiker, Uganda kob, leopards, lions, hyenas, and primates such as chimpanzees and olive baboons, among others. Along the Nile's banks, you'll see crocodiles and hippos. The goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelicans, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbills, cormorants, saddle-bill storks, and the uncommon shoebill stork are some of the more common birds that can be spotted. You'll return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some rest before departing in the afternoon for a boat cruise to the base of the falls on the Victoria Nile. You'll see hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, and a variety of birds, including the uncommon shoebill stork, along the way. The boat comes to a halt just a few meters from the "Devil's Cauldron" so that photos of the stunning and majestic Murchison Falls can be shot. The booked lodges will include the Fort Murchison, Paraa Safari Lodge, and Murchison River Lodge, among others.
In the morning, after having breakfast, you will hike up to the top of the Murchison Falls National Park and have a clear view of the river passing through the narrow gorge, which is about seven meters high, resulting in the waterfall. After that, you will depart the park and drive for about 7 hours to Kibale Forest National Park as you pass through the clear and fantastic trading centers with the local people doing their business. You will go and check into your lodge at Ndali, primate, Kibale forest camp, or Ruwenzori travelers' lodge, with meals served on a full board basis.
Have breakfast early in the morning and later drive to the park headquarters for breakfast. You should arrive at around 8 am to give you the rules for trekking chimpanzees while walking within the forest. You will last for approximately one and a half days as you trek to the gorillas. As you are moving and watching side by side in the forest, you will be able to see other primates such as the red-colobus and blue-tailed monkeys, as well as the cheeked mangabeys, which can be seen hiking through and jumping from one tree to another. To ensure that the trip is not only entertaining but also educational, your guide will provide you with fascinating briefings on the lifestyles of the monkeys you will encounter, as well as on the flora, insects, and butterflies found in this forest. In the afternoon, you will go on a guided nature walk at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides excellent birding and natural trails. Aside from bird watching, Bigodi village includes a rich cultural heritage site where visitors may mingle with the locals and learn about African lifestyles and entertainment. You will wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and later drive to the game drive safari in Kasenyi, where you will be able to see lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, topis, waterbucks, and giant forest hogs. After this game drive safari, you will later go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, where you will see all of the hippos and see the alloy of the animals as they see you, and this offers the visitors a great safari experience and great reading opportunities. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Early in the morning, you'll go on a wildlife sighting in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you'll encounter lions, elephants, topis, leopards, bushbucks, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, and Uganda Kobs, among other animals. After returning to your resort for a late breakfast, you will depart for Lake Bunyonyi. The lake, which is near Rwanda's border, is believed to be one of western Uganda's most picturesque spots. It is Africa's second deepest lake and one of the only spots in the country where swimming is deemed safe due to the absence of bilharzia. This section of the Uganda Gorillas & Savannah Safari drive takes 6-7 hours, and you'll eat lunch along the way. Visitors will come here to enjoy a canoe boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and a hike through the surrounding hills. The landscape is interesting because it is made of steep slopes that are covered with lush vegetation, making the experience that much more interesting. Bunyonyi is known as the place for the birds, and it rewards visitors with a view of many of the birds, which can also be seen during canoeing on the lake Bunyonyi. You can hike to the highest point of the hills and enjoy the scenic views, and after that, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will arrive in the evening to check into your lodge. Get up early and have a warm breakfast before being driven to the park headquarters for a briefing by the guide on gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest National Park. You may need to pack lunch because the time spent in the forest is not known as seeing the gorillas depends on their movement and the physical fitness of the people tracking them. It is exciting and thrilling to spend some time with these gorillas. Once you have spotted them, you will be allowed only one hour to interact with them, take photos, and ask any questions you want to know. Please make sure that you do all of these while standing at a 7-meter distance. After that, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and, later, go for an evening cultural walk with the local community before returning to the lodge for an overnight stay. After an early Uganda primate and wildlife breakfast, travel to Lake Mburo National Park, which is cantered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes rich in birdlife and home to animals such as zebra, warthog, elands, and impala. You'll stop for lunch in Mbarara before continuing to the park. In the afternoon, you'll go on a 2-hour boat excursion on Lake Mburo, where you'll get up close and personal with water species including crocodiles and hippos. You'll have dinner and sleep at the lodge where you made your reservation. The lodging options include Mihingo Lodge, Eagles Nest Camp, Lake Mburo Safari Lodge, and Arcadia Cottages, among others.
After breakfast, you will go on a walking tour of the park with your guide, who will explain which animals have left tracks and droppings, as well as how long ago they were left. Mburo is one of just two parks in Uganda where walking tours are permitted. For the game walk, return to the resort for lunch before continuing your journey back to Kampala. You'll make a pit stop at the Equator, where you'll be able to stand in both hemispheres at the same time and take photos. Another trip will be to the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers Centre, where you can observe ceremonial drums being made using ancient methods passed down through the years. In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Kampala. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel where you made your reservation. This marks the end of an 11-day Uganda primate and wildlife safari.
